Mobile web

Service2Media’s Mobile Application Lifecycle Platform offers an efficient way of presenting your service to mobile browsers and web browsers, as well as to mobile applications.

Applications and sites both use the same single integration components at the back-end. For each mobile site, we develop a few templates, each tailored to a particular category of devices to offer a superb browser based user experience on each device. We can even provide the possibility to create your own ad based microsites by giving you access to our advanced microsite builder.

For many of our customers we have developed their service in the form of mobile applications as well as a mobile site. The reason is that users are favouring both models, depending on habits and device.

Generally speaking though the usage of apps seems to have overtaken browsing very quickly. This has various reasons, one of which being the disappointing user experience of mobile sites. Others being the better discoverability of apps due to app stores and app placement on the device’s home screen. Recent Mobile Benchmark Data for the European Market shows that the percentage of people using mobile applications is higher (33%) than people who use mobile browsing (22%).

In Service2Media’s view application and mobile browser paradigms will exist next to eachother and complement each other for the next 5-10 years, both with their own dynamics. HTML5 as a new app based trend on the web will provide mobile opportunities, mainly for dynamic advertising. It will not replace native applications though, because of security and browser compatibility reasons.
