Mobile lifecycle

Service2Media and the M2Active Mobile Application Lifecycle Platform supports all activities required to create and manage mobile applications from initial concept. Here are a few highlights of these activities:

Mobile design
Keeping the business requirements and application concept in mind, our creative team or those of our partners, construct mobile designs detailing mobile interaction and graphics that will determine the user experience of an application. Special designs are generated for devices with touch screens, keyboards and soft keys, and for alternative form factors like the iPad.

Mobile development
Based on the design the application logic code is developed using an agile development project approach. This means our customers receive early application prototypes for their device, preserving flexibility throughout the process. The M2Active platform provides components on both the client and server side for use in an application. Native implementations of these components on all mobile device platforms, such as the iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, and Windows Phone, guarantee that an application will have maximum reach.

Mobile testing
Testing of an application on various device types is important. The iPhone has only one form factor. But other operating systems run on a plethora of different device form factors, with various screen sizes, resolutions and input characteristics. Service2Media tests in-house across its impressive device pool with hundreds of different devices.

Mobile app store management
When applications are ready for the market, Service2Media facilitates direct download access from the customer’s (mobile) site. We also provide distribution and marketing via app stores such as:

  • iPhone app store
  • Android Market
  • BlackBerry World
  • Windows Marketplace
  • Nokia OVI store
  • GetJar

Mobile hosting, monitoring and support
M2Active is run as a complete Platform-as-a-Service. The server side of an application is hosted on telco-grade infrastructure. Automatic monitoring and our support staff make sure we perform on uptime and other service levels. Contact us for information on a software distribution of the platform

Mobile device additions
Before a new mobile device enters the market, we receive an early release and enter its characteristics in our device database. All our customer applications are tested on each new device to make sure they stay current with the fast lifecycle of device innovation.

Mobile application upgrades
When an application reaches a high level of usage, the customer expects the regular release of new features. M2Active Mobile Application Lifecycle Platform ensures that changes can be implemented effectively on a single code base. This approach is superior to the Silo development of apps where changes need to be implemented for each app separately. In this phase of the lifecycle, M2Active proves its value in terms of cost control and time-to-market.
