De Telegraaf launches iPhone app
Today De Telegraaf, the largest daily newspaper of the Netherlands, launches an application for the iPhone that allows users to create their own news subscriptions. The application is designed and developed by Service2Media.

The premise of the application is that users have always and everywhere access to the news of De Telegraaf. Unique is that new personal subscriptions can be created based on keywords and interests. These subscriptions are listed in the "My News" category and a counter shows how many new articles it contains.
Also special is the function "News in pictures. From a list of photographs users can click through to related articles. If the iPhone is tilted, the picture is displayed full screen. Photo news reports as part of articles can also be browsed full screen.
Furthermore, user can configure their favorite navigation themselves and it is possible to open external links in articles. De Telegraaf has many references to articles and videos on third party sites and these can be visited as well.

The application is the third mobile manifestation of De Telegraaf. The mobile site is one of the largest mobile sites in the Netherlands and reaches over 200,000 unique visitors per month with 7.5 million page views. De Telegraaf has recently launched a Java application. This application now has 15,000 active users. Both the Java application and the mobile site are also developed by Service2Media.
