Android App Challenge Spain Big Success

Service2Media Announces Winner of the Second 24 Hours Android App Challenge.

– After a very successful app challenge in Enschede in June this year, 25 talented developers from across Spain spent 24 hours competing against one another to win the Service2Media Android App Challenge on 3 October in a sunny Vilanova I la Geltrú.

Equipped with a Samsung Galaxy S+, the contest started on Friday evening at 8 PM. In the Service2Media office in Vilanova I la Geltrú, with food and beverage all provided, the eager contestants where tasked with showing off their skills on the native Android mobile-OS technology to produce the best app.

In order to win the coveted prize of a job offer at Service2Media and 5000 Euros cash prize some contestants worked the night through without any sleep. Despite the competition, all the participants showed a good social spirit by helping one another and there was a good atmosphere.

The core requirement was to develop an app that could perform ten pre-determined tasks which would be judged according to the following criteria:

1. Functionality
2. Code conventions (readable code, how easy to maintain)
3. Efficiency of the algorithms
4. Usability of design and interaction (Look & Feel)
5. Robustness, the App Challenge apps were tested on Samsung Galaxy S+.

announced Raúl Muñoz as the winner of the Android App Challenge.

Raúl beat off close competition to secure victory, having successfully completed all ten tasks. The judges were particularly impressed with Raúl’s quality of coding, having built the most robust app, with an excellent user experience and clean code.
